Ik volg de oprichtster Amanda al een tijdje en ben me de afgelopen maanden echt gaan verdiepen in wat zij en haar merk doen. Onlangs heb ik voor het eerst een product gekocht, en ik kan alleen maar zeggen: de producten zijn geweldig. Maar wat me nog het meeste raakt, is Amanda zelf.

Wat een vechter. Wat een lef. De manier waarop ze de cosmetica-industrie durft uit te dagen en tegen de schenen schopt, is zo nodig en zo krachtig. Ik heb ontzettend veel respect voor haar. Sinds ik haar verhalen volg, ben ik gestopt met het kopen van veel andere producten van eten tot shampoo, omdat ik me nu bewust ben van de schade die we als mensen aanrichten aan de oceaan.

Bedrijven blijven hun ogen sluiten of noemen kleine, achterhaalde aanpassingen ‘innovatie’, terwijl het eigenlijk nergens op slaat. Amanda laat zien dat échte verandering mogelijk is, als je maar durft.
