We Care

THE OCEAN

INTO THE BLUE

Our oceans are in trouble, and we want to do what we can to help. We understand that there’s only so much we can do with our small team, but we know how important it is to start somewhere.

We do not compromise and ban all chemical additives that can harm marine life.

HAWAII ACT 104 REEF COMPLIANT

All our sunscreen products correspond to the Hawaii Act 104 Reef Compliant, which means they are free of Oxybenzone and Octinoxate, the two ingredients identified in the research leading to the new regulation. However, there is no universally accepted testing protocol for the terms “Reef Friendly” or “Reef Safe,” and none of these terms are regulated or clearly defined. Therefore, no one can claim with certainty what is completely safe for the reef.

GOOD TO KNOW

The term “reef friendly” is not regulated. Therefore, it’s not always a reliable indicator of a product’s safety for marine life. To ensure that you’re using an ocean-friendly and reef-safe product, check the “active ingredients” label on the back of the product to make sure it doesn’t contain any harmful chemicals.
